The Global Forum of Producers of Prohibited Plants, taking place in the Netherlands in January 2016, served as a platform for (representatives of) farmers of coca, cannabis, and opium to discuss the implications of global drug control policies. Through the Heemskerk Declaration, delegates presented a set of policy recommendations based on their experiences and discontents with regard to the ineffective and unjust nature of crop control policies around the world.
At the United Nations General Assembly Special Session (UNGASS) on Drugs, the outcome of the GFPPP was presented by two delegates:
Amapola Duran Salas (Coca producer and leader of CONPACCP from Peru)
Nang Pann Ei Kham (Representative of Myanmar Opium Farmers Forum and Drug Policy Advocacy Group of Myanmar)
